ENFIELD LOCAL ELECTION GUIDE 2018 Why Voting is so Important On 3rd May 2018 all London Borough Councillor Seats are up or election, the last vote was held in 2014.  The current party in charge of the Enfield council is Labour and they have overseen the areas services since 2010. Councillors are selected for small geographic areas so that individual residents can have their voices and concerns heard more easily than an MP who has to represent hundreds of thousands of people in the House of Commons. Voters tend to overlook the importance of local elections. The turnouts are very low, often less than 40% on average.   However the Councillors are your voice and due to the small area they represent they are easily contactable, can listen to your complaints and can champion your cause.
